Meet the Team

Shaunta’-Founder & CEO

Shaunta’ is the proprietor and self-initiated developer of Hyde Syte LLC. With an attitude of compulsive organization and a flare for accomplishment, Shaunta’ has put her Master of Business Degree to work. As a multitasker, she made her way through graduate school, owned and managed several properties, worked in the corporate sector as well as raising a large family while her husband spent more than a decade deployed with the military.

Shaunta’ who is a conceal carry advocate and CCW holder has instilled a safe environment for herself, her children and the community. Aware of the many tactics her military husband has relayed, Shaunta’ felt it was necessary for society to embody the same techniques and tactics in order to craft a defensive lifestyle for others, hence the development of Hyde Syte Tactics and Safety Academy.

Shaunta’ was born and raised in Wisconsin. She humbly carries with her an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and Criminal Justice and a Master of Business.

Shaunta’ is a veteran wife, a proud mother, an entrepreneur and true American patriot who advocates freedom the Constitution and a safe society.

Trevor-Operations Director

Trevor has an extensive background growing up and living in rural, urban and suburban lifestyles. Serving his country and the community he began a rigorous Military career with the United States Airborne Rangers and later selected as a Green Beret Special Forces Weapons Sergeant.

Trevor was then promoted as the Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) Operations Sergeant. He continues his service with approximately 25 years, most of which with Special Operations. Trevor has deployed multiple times throughout his career and has been awarded the Bronze Star twice, the Combat Infantry Badge, the German Gold Schutzenschnur Medal, and several campaign medals.

Trevor is also currently serving his 18th year with a large municipal law enforcement agency. He currently is serving his 9th year with the SWAT Team. He has been awarded the Life Saving Award, the Superior Service Achievement Award, and the American Red Cross Brave Hearts Award.

Neil has a very extensive background and education. His experience and team commitment has developed him into a “jack of all trades”. Neil recently retired after 29 years military service in the  Army Guard and Reserves. He was well established in the United States Army Rangers and was later selected into the Special Forces. Neil is an expert in weapons, explosives, construction and medicine and has multiple CONUS and OCONUS deployments. He has developed cross-training from Military experience and over 20 years on a municipal fire department. Here too, Neil has moved up through the ranks as a Paramedic Lieutenant and instructs Fire, EMS, Basic Recruit and Paramedic Preceptor.

Neil is well versed in and instructs TCCC and TEMS. He has taught civilian, Law Enforcement, First responders and Military Personnel.

Ben brings much to this team and comes from a very experienced background and education. His initial exposure to tactical operations and specialized rescue began in 1999, while serving in the United States Navy as a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) Team Leader deployed in the Persian Gulf. He has since spent 16 years in EMS as a Firefighter/Paramedic, eventually furthering his education as a Physician Assistant, and currently works in Emergency Medicine in Kenosha. In 2011 he became the first PA in WI recognized with specialty board-certification in Emergency Medicine.

Ben is currently the Assistant Medical Director for Kenosha County EMS, a Tactical Paramedic with the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department TEMS team, and a regional EMS educator. He is a course coordinator and authorized instructor of all levels of Tactical Medicine courses through the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, including military Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), civilian Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), and specialized Law Enforcement First Response Tactical Care (LEFR-TC).

Ben’s extensive background in providing a wide variety of medical services ranging from emergency basic and advanced life support, to orthopedic injury evaluation and rehabilitation, to primary care medicine, have helped shape his unique approach to providing tactical care.

Experience & Training:

Todd has an extensive background in trauma medicine.  He has deployed to multiple countries where he was the primary care giver. He has also instructed trauma classes to Army units and host nation forces. Todd has developed his cross-training skills in weaponry, explosives, communication and construction. He is also a Level II volunteer Firefighter.






Experience & Training:

Hyde Syte Instructors have been brought together based on training and experience. Brought together from techniques used in the military, martial arts, law enforcement and SWAT, these professionals are the “real deal”. As the primary self-defense instructor, Joe started martial arts at the age of 12, received his black belt at the age of 18 in Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Hapkido, He then joined the Marines and became a Marine Corp Martial Arts Instructor. During his time in the Marines Joe was training in different styles of martial arts, Muay Thai kickboxing, wrestling, shoot fighting and Kung Fu.  He has competed in small tournaments i.e. Rage in the cage and king of the ring, type of fights. When he went to college he trained with St. Cloud boxing league, he then became a police officer for Black River Falls and was trained in the Defense Arrest and Tactics program. Joe also later trained with the Duke Roufus Academy. Joe became a police officer for a major municipality and  is currently assigned to their full time SWAT team.
