Joe Patla - Instructor
Joe brings a global view to emergency operations with over 17 years of training and field experience in both law enforcement and Fire/EMS. He started his career with a paid-on call fire/ems position while completing his law enforcement degree. With several years working for a large municipal fire department, ER tech, and critical care private ambulance service, he eventually merged his career to the thin blue line. During his time with the fire department, he served as a Driver/Operator, rescue diver, Haz-Mat Technician, Fire / EMS Instructor, as well as a NREMT TECC Instructor. Joe has always been passionate about extending his training and experience through instructing ACLS, PHTLS, PALS, and CPR to physicians and medical professionals throughout the state.
Joe graduated from the Milwaukee Area Technical College police academy in 2003. During his law enforcement career, Joe has spent most of his time on 2nd and 3rd shift patrol, with extensive work in drug interdiction & gang intelligence. Joe is currently a K9 Handler and serves with a local county swat team where he was a founding member of the TEMS program. In his spare time, he can be found running calls with a local fire/ems agency as a volunteer member.
